The questionnaire also included questions on respondents' level of participation at local cultural events. Another set of questions focused on young people's experience with addictive substances, namely the frequency of alcohol use, smoking, slot machines, trying drugs, or more frequent use of drugs. The survey also set out to identify information sources on addictive substances and their effects and to establish how effective the awareness of precautionary measures is in young people. Compared to previous surveys, another set of questions was added, examining the level of agreement with the existence and life of national minorities in Slovakia as well as the degree of agreement with extremist groups in Slovakia. A specific criterion for the survey analysis was establishing a typology of individual groups of young people based on their relationship to addictive substances, extremist groups, and the media. The survey was performed on a sample of young respondents (16 - 18 years old) attending the second or third grade of the most frequent types of secondary schools (grammar schools, business schools, medical schools, hotel schools, vocational schools, and conservatories).
