Data Data catalogue Leisure time by high school students 2011 study description | list of variables | data access Identification Number: SASD 2011004 Author: Národné osvetové centrum Date of collection: 2011-04-01 to 2011-04-30 Data collector: Sampling procedure: Zámerný výber Number of cases: 1095 Abstract: The fourth survey from the survey cycle 'The use of youth leisure time; the relationship of youth to media and reading' primarily focused on establishing how much selected leisure activities are done, mapping conditions and possibilities to do these activities in the close vicinity of the respondent's residence and determining the circumstances or persons that prevent the optimal use of leisure time. The questionnaire also included questions on respondents' level of participation at local cultural events. Another set of questions focused on young people's experience with addictive substances, namely the frequency of alcohol use, smoking, slot machines, trying drugs, or more frequent use of drugs. The survey also set out to identify information sources on addictive substances and their effects and to establish how effective the awareness of precautionary measures is in young people. Another set of questions examined the level of agreement with the existence and life of national minorities in Slovakia as well as the degree of agreement with extremist groups in Slovakia. The survey was conducted on a sample of young respondents (16 - 18 years old) attending the second or third grade of the most frequent types of secondary schools (grammar schools, business schools, medical schools, hotel schools, vocational schools, and conservatories). The sample size was 1095 respondents representing all eight regions of Slovakia. Citation: Národné osvetové centrum. Voľný čas stredoškolákov 2011. [dátový súbor].
