Number of respondents: 1140 Number of cases: 0 Abstract: The research is the eighth study conducted by the Information Agency - Institute for Public Opinion Research in Bratislava. The research covers a wide range of topics (regional administration, planned economy, biennial, industrialization, labor competition, book purchases). SASD provides a reconstruction of the research results, compiled on the basis of final reports intended for state authorities and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Slovakia. Neither the data nor the original questionnaire are available, but SASD provides a reconstruction of the questions used in the questionnaire, and the basic results of the research are available online in an Excel file. The research was carried out using a purposeful sample selection to reflect as accurately as possible the estimated structure of the population of Slovak society at that time. As this was the post-war period and the last nationwide census was in 1930, with the next one not until 1950, it was not possible to use quota sampling. However, the nature of the sample indicates that the selection of the sample in several characteristics corresponded to the structure of Slovak society at the time of the research closest to the 1950 census.
