Abstract: The survey is a part of International Social Survey Programme (ISSP). The ISSP is a continuing annual programme of cross-national collaboration on surveys covering topics important for social research. It brings together pre-existing social science projects and coordinates research goals, thereby adding a cross-national, cross-cultural perspective to the individual national studies. It is focused on importan issuesregarding attitudes. ISSP combines two dimensions of comparation - international comparation and time comparation. Programme runs constantly in one-year cycles. This Survey links to precedent Survey Social Inequalities, which run in Czecho-Slovakia in 1992. Team of every participated country on ISSP 1999 applied identical module of questionnaire developed by international research team. Shared module was dedicated to factors influencing chances of individual for social mobility, as parent's status, education, contacts etc., to attitudes to inequalities, to social conflict, ideas of real and just incomes of different professions etc. More at official webpage: www.issp.org
